Hi! No, I bought my 114mm Newtonian Reflector from local store in Yangon. It works quite nice for the price. I planned to buy a telescope from hioptic but haven't bought yet as I still have a payment transfer & custom clearance problems.mySG_jy wrote:HI Boothee, did you by your 114mm Newtonian reflector from them? is so how is it so far?
James
When I ask the brand, they show me the telescope with the name maxvision which looks really nice.
Regards,

boothee

so are there anyone selling these kind of telescopes in singapore.
Don't these companies sell their products in bulk rather than individuals. If so would it be better if there is someone who brings it in locally and sell it at a reasonable price ...being it brandless scopes if i am right to say that

"Bulk" is a word not possible for astronomy because the community is relatively small. And more so because not everyone will buy the same stuff.pus88 wrote:so are there anyone selling these kind of telescopes in singapore.

I think "Airconvent" is right, astro community here is small, and I have to add on a few words that most of the astro community here rely on "branded" stuff and also the "top grade" scope like "APO" & "ED", the main reason is because now APO is now more affordable, therefore no one wants to pay for a "achromatic" scope which is only about 15% less in cost, if not I would have brought in two years back already!
Even some of the APO scope are quite hard to sell especially the smaller dia like 80mm...
I still have the followings Achromatic Refractor OTA only in good condition to clear stock:
1. SW 150mm f/8 refractor with adjustable lens cell demo set selling at $700,
2. SW 120mm f/5 short tube refractor demo set selling at $500 and,
3. Vixen 80mm f/8 refractor demo set selling at $300.
Any taker for the above scopes? price ONO...
