NGC1977 & M42

Post by cataclysm »

Another outing with the tiny FS60, my so call 'grab & go" imaging set up. Orion is setting earlier, crossing the meridian by late evening, hence my choice of a light setup because I have to relocate to the pool side to image due to obstructions. Shot this 2 nights ago, the sky was free of clouds but pretty hazy, got tons of gradients from the raw data.

Image & equipments info:

Mount: Losmandy GM8 with Gemini GOTO
OTA: Takahashi FS60CB with WO 0.8x reducer/flattener
Camera: Modified/cooled Meade DSI III pro
Guide scope: Mini Borg 50
Guide Camera: SAC 4-2
Subs: 2x10 min H-alpha
4x3min & 4x30s Red
4x3min & 4x30s Green
4x4min & 4x30s Blue

Hi,
WOW!!! Beautiful!! [smilie=wow2.gif]

Must find some easier method to get the M42 without over-expose the trapezium area...

Have a nice day.

Awesome! Great job considering the hazy evenings! Nice colors in M42...I like!! Great approach with the subs....did you final stack/layer them in PS and then masking?
