So lucky today the sky cleared at the east and can see tons of stars, so I went to my kitchen window and tried to find COMET NEAT with my 12X25 bino... And Guess wad?? I've found it! It was so easy man..Just find canis minor, follow the direction of prycon, up to a triangle of stars, and look down from to the left hand side...Muwahahaha..If the sky stays up I'm going to observe in SP tml evening with my mewlon~ =D~~ ~

Hi :
Yes , Neat was really neat! A short fanout tail ... easily visible in binos.. I was doing video recording at a nearby field. Tonight Image can be found at end of this page link..

Was viewing the Centarui A Galaxy close to mid-night - the 'central' band was clearly visible on video! ( through C8 + Mintron)

As i suspected, everyone was looking at Neat...me too!
I remembered it being in Canis Major a few days ago, so proceeded to search for it using my bino but could not see it anywhere. After 20 min of futile search, got fed up, went back home, took my ETX105EC to my multistorey carpark for a peek. Just as I completed alignment and was commanding my goto to Neat, I got a call from CC to clarify it was not 10 deg west of Procyon instead! No wonder I could not find it near Sirius. Silly me. The ETX was spot on (loaded Q4, T7 and Bradley into my autostar a few weeks back). A glowing ball , resembling the globular Omega Centauri but more fuzzy and brighter. No tail could be seen. From the dim image, I gave up trying to photograph it as my camera would not have been able to pick up the faint fuzzy ball.
It was an exhilirating experience as this is the very first comet I have seen!
I've lived through Halley, Hale Bopp but at the time, had not been "awakened" to astronomy yet...so wasted the opportunity.
Can anyone confirm that from here on, Neat will move further away and become fainter and fainter? How high will it go before it moves back down?
