Post by Meng Lee »

Hi all,

Taken by Lumenera, 5 x 40s, no dark, no flats, no bias.

The scope used is 80 Megrez II. The subexposures are too short. There is severe gradient, mostly due to Ampglow. Overall the data collected is terrible. Oh man, I need ATIK. Reserve Lumenera for solar system objects.

Hmm... it look quite good to me... the amp glow should be able to reduce once you perform the dark subtraction.

Have a nice day.

WOW!! You got so many scope...

Anyway, interested to know how the R200SS perform... especially on DSLR. By the way, what is the central obstruction of the R200SS?? Dreaming of getting one in the future as it's a lot lighter than most other 8" F4/5 Newtonian.

Have a nice day.

Hi, erm not many scopes really. These are scopes meant for photography and Mak 150 is meant for visual.

I didnt measure the central obstruction, but its certainly very large and the spider vanes are very thick. Visually it performs very badly, anyway its meant for photography and meant to illuminate 35mm film.

I will try to use R200SS on my recently acquired mod 350D. Still waiting for some Shoestring cables to come.

Yes yes, same sentiment here! Love its light weight relative to the aperture. Do show us some pic with the R200SS.

Ok ok, I will try to accessorise the system as fast as possible and take some pictures. What are the objects that you all like to see how R200SS performs? I will try my best to see how best to take it.

Thanks.
