Hi,
I think Meade should expect someone to sue them sooner or later.

Hmm... I just wonder if Meade lost the lawsuit (which I think they will), will those people buying the RCX and LX200R scope sue Meade also. If this is the case, Meade is in deep sh*t!!

interestingly no where in the statement does it says s-i owns the trademark called “Ritchey-Chrétien”, or that it own the patent for such design. furthermore, how much actual or punity damages can one claim for "false representation" as oppose to patent infringement - hence profit loss, fo example.

this is probably the reason why star-instrucments is sueing meade:

s-i is going into the same amateur astrographer market as rcx, got to do it with a bang.

heh, to think just the optics without coatings, being sold as rc astrograph, isn't that a bigger misrepresentation than meade?

may be the rule of the game is to sue first, get publicity and may be hope for an out-of-court settlement. like streetdirectory.com...
