Hi,
Xing Xing, myself, Amin, Amin's wife - Aida/Ida?, Debash, Clement, John & John's friend - Joseph were at the field beside the Mosque last nite, testing out Amin's newly bought scope.
Xing Xing help took the following images on my Nokia N71 with Amin's scope.

Hi,
Didn't attend the Astronomy Night in NIE due to too many paper work to complete...
Anyway, was out with debash for an observation at 9:30pm and I ask Amin along to test out his Burgess 127mm f/8 Achromatic Refractor. Although the sky was quite clear, but I think there is a thin layer of haze, so we just look at the Moon when it raise above the building... the Moon actually got lots of interesting and nice feature to see, I think will want to spend more time on the Moon next time.
By the way, John's friend take out his handphone trying to take a picture of the Moon using the camera on his handphone through the eyepiece and suddenly everyone with a camera phone take out their phone to try and it became a handphone astrophotography session.
Wondering who's handphone manage to take the best Moon image??
Below is the group picture taken at the end of the session while everyone waiting for me to pack up... again...
The picture was taken with long exposure and manual focus... it is still quite blur (I think I need to practise more on my manual focusing skill
) even after I heavily sharpen it, but I think still can manage to identify everyone. Hope I get the names right...
Have a nice day.

Amazing!
From the picture, the CA is indeed very low for a 5" f/8. Visually, the CA is lower than that. You are making me miss that 5" Burgess scope!!

Wow, sure looked like a wonderful group time.
We had wonderful time at IPhO Astronomy Night too. I managed to photograph the moon there as well. And I had the best view of Jupiter I ever have through ACC's 12.5" Portaball with Nagler ep.
Hope to see some of you people at other gatherings! Clear skies!

Yupz, thru a hp... and with your Burgess scopeyou mean this is taken through a handphone?

Joseph (John's friend) tried to take the Jupiter with its moons too, but guess it's too far. Could only make out an orange ball.
The guy standing between Clement & Joseph, is a passerby on his way home, who at first thought we were from media corp...

Hi,
Have a nice day.
All the images was taken through WO VR-1 filter. Visually, the CA was very little on the Moon with the VR-1 filter... you won't notice it unless you really look for it. On jupiter, the CA will be much more obvious even with the VR-1 filter... same with my Sky-Watcher 120 F/8.3 refractor. From the picture, the CA is indeed very low for a 5" f/8. Visually, the CA is lower than that. You are making me miss that 5" Burgess scope!!
Have a nice day.
