Hi ,

Attached a wide field view of M42 taken with a Sky90 and Canon 300D.

As always, JY, Awesome!
Its images like these that let people have an idea what they are looking at visually by identifying the trapezium..
I am also able to appreciate the running man nebula better too!

Hi all,

Thanks for your comments.
The image was taken at prime focus on 13 december. That night was superb, but since then, we have not had many clear nights !

Cheers

it's a testament that for widefield astrophotograhy, nothing beats a small apo on a high quality mount. Well, a darker sky might help a bit :-)

Not a bit... A dark sky will help a lot... :) I think that is one of the most importance requirement for long exposure wide field astrophotography!!

Have a nice day.

Hi,

You are right !
Hopefully I'll be able to go to a dark sky in the near future and extract more details.
The weather seems to change for the better, ... hope it clears up,

Cheers
