Hi,
where did you buy the step down ring?
I got it from John 3:16 in funan centre. I think they'll be kind enough to help you order one if they don't have stock.

By the way, to use a 2" filter, you need to step down to 48mm.

Have a nice day.

I'm not quite sure about the diameter of the 1.25" and rear cell filter... you had to measure the diameter of the filter and ask them. But I think the 1.25" filter may be a problem... I don't think many people doing photography are using a 1.25" size filter on their SLR lens... it may be just too small to be useful, so I think the step-down ring should be very rare if exist.

Have a nice day.

Hi Weixing,

It's encouraging to know that something like this can be achieved in Singapore - great stuff!

I have a question... When doing long exposure astrophotography in Singapore, is polar alignment a must (with us being so near the equator)? And if so, how did you manage this?

Yes... it a must no matter where you are on earth... unless you are taking star trail image.
And if so, how did you manage this?
I mount the camera on my Vixen GP GEM.

Have a nice day.

I'm kindda wondering about the same thing since I'm going to be (hopefully) imaging from 6deg South (new territory, no star to point to, I assume).

Did you use a compass, roughly polar aligned the mount, and do drift alignment?

Yes... first use compass the do a rough polar alignment then do drift alignment.

Have a nice day.

Hi Weixing,
An encouraging result for Singapore! The gradients do seem to yearn for attention though. Is the zip file the raw JPEG version?
