A couple of galaxies from 2013-2014 period

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

A couple of galaxies from 2013-2014 period

Post by rcj »

With past years having a greater emphasis on capturing of interstellar nebulae, thought it was a good moment to spend some time and effort on capturing galaxies during the last 1.5 years with a variety of instruments. In no particular order, the following galaxies are predominantly captured in Mersing during periods of good clarity (although some have been mucked by haze, etc).

Whirlpool and NGC5195 (VMC260L)

Centaurus A Radio Galaxy (E210)

Wonderful as usual Remus! What was the faintest galaxy you have ever imaged? Ever tried a whole-night for 1 galaxy image deal? :)

thanks guys! most of them still need more exposures and data. No Richard, don't plan on capturing the really faint ones yet, but probably galactic clusters would be fun.

thanks CK and Malcolm! Still learning (yes indeed)! Always new workflow whenever opportunity and discovery arises. Sure thing Malcolm, over coffee chat would be good. :-)

Nice. What a dark sky and top end gear and experience imager can do.

Any examples with AP 130.

Cheers
