Re: Unedited Solar Images from Jan 2012 onwards
Hi,All
Thanks Gary for the upload.
The object photographed are prominences and filaments of 'strange' shape. The most 'hard to explain'
one is the circular filament around the sunspot. As can be seen,a more distinct one around the
lower one and a less prominant one around the upper one--if one take filament as some kind of
prominence seen on the surface of the sun that follow the path of the strong magnetic flux line
found on the surface----its hard to explain the shape of these round filament.Due to monopole or what.?Round magnetic flux line at the top of the pole(sunspot)? Its very rare.
The other photos are prominences that 'cross' one another.Anybody knows the magnetic and electric
lines of force dont cris-cross one another--so what cause these prominences that cross one another for hours?Interesting.
Anyway pls enjoy the photos.Thanks.

Hi Mr Chia,
The gigantic prominence on the western limb was spectacular. Thanks for sharing with us.
I happened to imaged it 2 hours after you at 12:30 pm on 9 May 13. Here it is. Enjoy

Some photos taken on 15 March by Mr Chia. Enjoy! Btw, yesterday's x-class flare was the strongest in 2013.

Hi,All
These are photos taken on 15 mar 2013 afternoon of a flare that lasted for at least 3 hrs. After that the sun was up on solar activities for the next 1.5 month. Will be submitting photos of those interesting
sunspot later.Do note that during that period,'by coincidence' lots of earthquake too around asia--from the deadly Iran earthquake and China earthquake to lots of smaller ones.Interesting.
