Re: Solar maximum 2013 (Share photos of the sun here)
Hi,All
Thanks Dave for the upload. The uploaded photo are the few thats taken during this inactive solar maximum. The two on the prominence indicate
changes during a short interval. Also do note that prominences are seldom high these days.;but many 'wall ' type appears.
The one on the sunspot indicate tht even for a small sunspot;the 'affected 'region maybe much larger--see the Cak photo. In general
the power from this max is disappointing.

Image of the sun taken during lunch time.
Image was taken with a LS35 via afocal projection.

agreeing with Mr Chia that Solar activity is low for this Max.
It quite disappointing for now.
Hopefully the solar physicist got it correct about the Twin Peaks and as they predicted, another peak will happen in 2013 and possibly last into 2014

Image of the sun taken in the morning.
Image with taken with a G1X via afocal projection thru Lunt 35.
Sun is almost spotless!

Well done! What a huge jump in details in this latest photo with just afocal photography on a manual tripod and mount! Looks like all the weekday lunch break practicing is paying off! ![admire [smilie=admire.gif]](./images/smilies/admire.gif)

Good idea. That's part of the fun of astronomy. And not just blindly keep upgrading to the latest and greatest without knowing and experiencing the limits of our current astro gear.

Image of the sun taken on the 24/3/2013

Image of the sun taken during my lunch break today under hazy sky.

A very inactive sun as seen from the earth side, no sunspots.
Heard the the Far Side of the sun is crazily active.

Hi,Dave
The sun is actually still spotted on the 24 mar;but very small spots at the edge. These days it seems that the sun
is running 'out of power'.Most sunspots are small;and to confirm spotted or not sun, have to set up my 150mm
scope at 540nm to confirm. Some of these small spots disappear 1 day after appearance.A review of photos from Jan
1st till now give disappointment--basically inactive except in the afternoon of 15 mar 2013--around 2pm till 5pm spore
time--a strong perhaps M class flare with large area occured.Disappointing sun.
