astro shops in taipei?

anyone know of reputable astro shops in Taipei. Making a short trip later this year. Have found some on the internet like Nick Instruments etc.. but would like to know if anyone has any recommendations.

Well the best would be William Optics :-)

They can probably give you a hefty discount if you pick up at their office, since the prices on their online shop are INCLUSIVE of international shipping.

so did you end up getting anything from Taiwan? a lot of scope were made in Taiwan.

Havent gone yet. Trip is changed to mid October. Will keep posted when I return.

The WO showroom (actually their conference room) is a short walk from the Danshui subway station. Its a worthwhile trip only if you have something in mind that you would like to buy cos' not that many stuff are on display. If I remember correctly, they offer a 10% discount for walk-in customers.

Hi Mariner, I only managed to visit one astro shop - the one that Weixing pointed out - M&T Optics. http://www.telescopes.com.tw/

Its located in the town area so its easier to get to compared to the William Optics HQ. M&T optics staff were friendly and knowledgeable although it was not a very big or well stocked shop. What impressed me was that the owner had one last brand new Pentax 75SDHF which was tempting but I didnt buy. Not sure what would have changed these last two years. Perhaps someone else may have visited in more recent times. The WO hq is located at the fringe of the city, and I was unable to find the time to get to. Happy shopping and fooding!

I'm turning into an EP addict. M&T doesn't seem to have a wide variety according to their website. Only Microtech Plossls and Pentax EPs (the super ex ones...).

May try WO's HQ if I have the time but I'm not after any particular WO product as of now. Any more recommendations?
