M8 Reloaded and Reprocessed

As I promised, I took the additional photos with badly streaked stars due to mount movement/periodic error, deconvoluted them in Photoshop then reprocessed again for this slightly nicer picture of M8.
Again the data is as follows:
Orion 110ED, f/7 refractor, Nikon D700, Astronomik UHC filter on Vixen Sphinx SXD
60x 1min shots at ISO 3200
10x 1.5min shots at ISO 1600

I tried to make the sky background less red but couldn't do that and still have the upper loops of nebulosity reasonably noticable.
Would appreciate advice and critique

i did some editing if you did not mind..i made stars white, and black space as background...

Your image captured is really well done. D700 ( unmoded ) is a great cam is a nice cam for astro work. Also take note of some prevalent black transparency stripes on captured image which suggest fogging somewhat in the lens of the ORION scope or of the D700 inbuilt IR filter.

With the enthusiasm of AP of late, it's nice to see images from different Astrophotogs! Soon we can compile a section of Images from the hazy SG skies! Could both serve as a reference and album of the SG skies! Just a thought

I actually have a pass like that as well but I wanted to also bring up the upper loops. Sigh! The black stripes are actually dust motes on my telescope objective. Unfortunately it came with a few largish particles on it but being a single tube (non-removable cell) I can't quite clean the inner lens. I can't use flat frames due to the decovulution: already there's a mild degree of right-down oblique streaking, mostly masked by editing the levels but add the dark and/or flats and the streaking becomes NASTY.

I must say that deconvolution in PS is quite powerful: I never expected this quality of picture. On average I was correcting by 5-7 pixels.

Wow..that's a great shot! well done. Lots of details. Its bright enough so you can afford to push the levels down a bit so that the background would be darker.
