CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

Great showcase as usual remus!
NGC 6357 looks like a ghost coming out of the picture, really spooky!

thanks to everyone for their kind comments! it's been a rather challenging year though....2010 don seem that good for having nights with extended periods of clarity enough for finishing colour DSO projects....thats why my apologies for having the images mostly in monochrome. If only there are more clear nights, I would look forward to colorized ones... ironically, even going for several malaysia expeditions for the year of 2010, output is quite low.... the following being one of them....Pleaides but only in monochrome (only had brief moment to capture 3 subs of 10 minutes in B channel) and quick processing

Seriously looking forward to more good nights in 2011!

Finally, just some simple generic advice for budding astrophotographers:

1) patience
2) patience
3) patience

The number of times i have spent setting up, drift align, calibrate, compose, and then close shop.....about 60%... so u need patience! (not money). cheers!
