Hi,

During this period, we can already see Venus, Mars, Saturn and Jupiter very easily from anywhere on the island as long as you have clear skies overhead. You don't really need a dark spot to see them.

Mecury however, has always been very difficult for us to see because it is very low and most of the time, wherever we are on the island, our horizon area is either blocked by buildings or thick, low clouds.

Hi mouse,
As u want to see the comet, refer to astro magazine like The Sky and Telescope or Astronomy. Eventhough their North American oriented based data and info, u could get info like wat date comet in wat constellation. U can also u Sky and Telescope's interactive sky maps, in which u could get star maps of Singapore. 8)

The website for these magazines are as followed:
Astronomy - www.astronomy.com
Sky and Telescope - www.skypub.com
Night Sky(A slim-down version of Sky and Telescope for begineers) - www.nightskymag.com

I will try to come out with a review of the Night Sky magazine as soon as I finish reading my copy. Not a bad magazine after all, easy to read.
