CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!
The weather at Punggai is mostly cloudy but the clouds pass and go very fast, so I am unable to capture full colour frames properly. So here goes 2 objects:
Hmm... why didn't you use the Starshoot Pro? You would have obtained the color image of Lulin, no?

I used the Pentax SDUF refractor and Atik 16HR camera with the L filter. Well, I didnt bring starshoot pro camera because of some adapter issue. Actually I meant the Pentax to go with the Starshoot Pro.
Oh dear.. sorry to hear that! Can share with us what the adapter issue was?

Btw, do you experienced dewing/frosting on the front of the ccd sensor when the camera gets cold? And if it does how do you prevent it? I am tinkering with my DSI pro camera lately with peltier cooling, the the dew always get in the way when the camera cool down.
Oh, my Atik camera has a sealed chamber with dessicant. But on the worst nights, some droplets may appear and the donut on the screen never clears. Then the session ends. Otherwise it does not dew up.
1 stage cooling should be OK with a basic sealed chamber with dessicant. 2 stage (like remus's camera) will probably need a real tight sealed chamber with a few hours of fresh dessicant inside to prevent dewing. But i think on the worst nights, it will still dew up.
