Yes, Google Earth is now more feature-laden than ever.
Do have a look at the video demos of the new features available in Google Earth version 4.2:

Not only has a new planetarium function been added, but also for planet Earth itself, many geographic features like mountains and canyons are now represented in richly textured 3D.
Also, Google Earth now shows Night-time Light Pollution over the entire globe. I zoomed down to the Johor-Singapore area to have a close look at our region. On how to access this feature, see:
