y do i have a feeling it is the barlow in the focuser scope

Hi,
This should be the same one as the SkyWatcher Catadioptric-Newtonian 1141EQ1. Since it got a corrector lens, it may have some false colour...

Anyway, ursaMinor just got one recently... may be can ask him to write a review after he collimate the scope and have a few observation sessions with it...

hey! I just got the same scope, celestron 114 ed short newtonian, my first scope! But I bought it from binoculars.com . I didn't went to Astro-Scientific but did checked out the price $659SGD. The same scope overseas costs the same BUT with the eyepiece and filterkit included + shipping. I did went to check out telescopes.com but the asshole at telescopes.com sounded like I owe him money and didnt showed sincerity when I asked him qs regarding the scope (he always gave 1 line answer) so I got fedup and went to binoculars.com. Chris @ binoculars.com is realli nice and would surely help out on the features on the model. You can say u were referred by ursaminor@hotmail.com and he probably would be most happy to do some introduction. (I guess customer service realli matters alot)
Anyway, regarding the scope, I haven't tried it out yet cos I didnt know how to collimate it. Luckily rlow is coming to help me out wif it. Thanks!
I also bought the product assessories box since it costs onli $99USD when purchased with the scope. But I do not know whether the offer still stands.
I did researched abit on this 1 and they say it is a good beginner scope to start off it. So you can try it out maybe. Well, you should definitely ask the experienced ppl here to help you with choosing of new scope. But beware the good side is that it is much cheaper, the bad side is that when ur scope gets damaged during shipping....either u refund it and fork another $400SGD to send and get it back or you have to live with it.

by the way, note that ursaMinor's scope does not have a corrector plate in front.

Hi,
The corrector plate is not in the front of the OTA, it should be in the focuser. Did you see the any lens in the focuser??

Ahh, now i remember, i think that i did see the corrector lens built into the bottom of the focuser.

Oh sorry everybody! I typed my last msg in a hurry and didn't bother to check about the word "a**hole*. Realli sorry about that. I wouldn't use anything like that again here. But that person at telescopes.com is really quite unhelpful despite my constant mailing asking for more features on that scope, can't possibly do a long-distance call either. Once again , I feel embarrased for what I have done, sorry everybody if you all feel offended.
