Starshoot with Eq6

Post by Meng Lee »

Hi all,

First trial of many things:

EQ6 mount guided by Nugget at 400mm with Guidemaster
Orion Starshoot with Mogg adapter with 35mm Nikkor lens at f/4
Tried the raw mode of starshoot with CMY debayer method

Arcturus taken with dark frame subtraction. simple PS gradient removal with Dust and scratches filter. (there is still residual gradient)

20x12s exposure, unaided focussing.

The dark frame subtraction is quite effective but the debayer method of starshoot is a bit cranky. Colour balance is off. But anyway, Magntiude of around 10.5 are the dimmest stars in the image.

(Its from NUS rooftop! and its camera lens, not even a telescope.)
