The Sigma lens is surprisingly sharp, comparable to the WO scope with eyepiece. Using a sturdy tripod and the 2-second self-timer function on the K100D will help to dampen vibrations before picture capture. If you can take a few shots and stack them, it will generate ther "Wow!" factor :)

Hi Alvin..
Thanks. Had to do a correction. I have updated the last image is using the WO Megrez and not Sigma 600. The megrez one is quite difficult because had to be precise to avoid vignetting. Took alot of shots with portions of the moon cut off before I got these.

Yup, afocal technique requires steady hands and need to keep camera lens on-axis with eyepiece. I took the following picture using the same afocal technique (retrieved from an old file picture in this old post)...
