Venus near Jupiter (6am,5th Nov)

Post by chrisyeo »

There will be a conjunction of Venus and Jupiter on the morning of 5th November for those who might be bothered to take a look. "They’ll be separated by just over ½-degree, roughly the apparent width of the Moon (the width of your fist, held at arm’s length roughly corresponds to 10 degrees). "

Maybe if the sky is clear someone can try to take a photo and see how it turns out?

hlyf,

Worth a try through a scope. Try to catch four of Jupiter's moons!

Such a waste, I came to know about this conjunction a week too late. But I well, at least i can still see em, only now they're not so close anymore *shrug*

But on a lighter side...it's my first time seeing Jupiter *cheers* Hoorah! Hey I know how to spot Venus so at least that deserves a pat on the back? *grinz*

Yes...I'm an amateur, like real amateur astronomer. Interested but very limited knowledge. Still learning though. :)
And btw, nice pics. :D

Take your time! Slowly learn and enjoy!

Wait till you see those planets through a telescope.

Check for postings regarding observation sessions this friday of saturday, and you can join us for a mini star party..

Hi Dark Prince,
so you are finally here...as I said on the intranet, singastro is where you can learn the joys of astronomy... If you stay in Tampines, watch out for the regular sessions that our resident celebrity observer, weixing conducts . You can learn alot from this experienced astronomer...and take cool astrophotographs eventually..
