I believe the 'simple tracking mount' is a Celestar wedgepod model with adjustable latitude from 0-90 degrees. It had been improved with tools-free hand-knobs and a bubble-level indicator. I had fond memories of carrying that to Mersing many years ago.

Yes indeed it is. This scope was bought from David.

hai... just paid 1K+ for my family car repair..... I was considering upgrade to C8 until I saw the bill. It take awhile for me to accept that the car is running on C8 now.
Just a question: where did rlow get it from? Does it come with box or case?

The wedgepod is part of the C8 Celestar package that I bought from our local Celestron agent some time ago. I don't think the original cardboard box is around anymore.
