CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

Hi everyone,

Being the first clear nights for a long time, I was up till late last weekend (till 5am Saturday morning!). First of a series of images.

The open cluster M46 with a nice planetary embedded in it. The autoguiding is getting better but still not as I'd like it. Have changed to GuideDog as guiding software on Matthew's recommendation. It's excellent. 4 min individual exposures.

Hi TG,

Very nice !
You got the tracking right and a very even background, your flats must be excellent.
You pinned that NGC 2438 pretty well, I have not seen many of it,

Cheers

Have to agree with JY on that!
Feels like I am looking into a jewellery box and there's the wife's hair band in there too ! :D Nice effort Tan Guan..
Am I mistaken or is this planetary nicer looking and more colourful than M57?
