Apollo Bay, Victoria - ETA Carinae

Post by wucheeyiun »

I was at Melbourne visiting my nephews...
One cold night at Apollo Bay, took out camera aim at milky Way, ETA Carina came up nicely.
Southern Cross and Coal Sack pretty much as they are described.

I miss the place where stars shine bright, to gaze upwards in awe of the sight

Actually on a good night you can see it very clearly in Mersing. I remember once Gavin pointing it out to me because I was focussed on "bright stuff...haha
But I guess you can beat Australian skies...no pollution desert clear night skies! :)

It is actually a sea town south of Australia, fronting Bass Straits and Tasmania :)
Unfortunately, i only had my 35-70mm f2.8 nikon lens. I would have taken a wider field.
