Common terms and abbreviations...

Hi folks,
Bring a newbie there are many terms and abbreviations which I do not know, can someone enlighten me??
E.g. "code" words like cdc, ccd, apo, dl, ddp, nb.... Think the list goes on... Haha
To be frank I just found out ota stands for optical tube assembly!
Would very much appreciate it! Thanks in advanced!!
