James's Bazooka shown in this photo in today's TODAY:

It's so long it's sticking out into the page header. :P

Grab your free copies of Today and MyPaper and buy ST, ZaoBao, malay and indian newspapers for all the venus transit reports and photos too! You only need to spend so much $ on newpapers twice in 100+ years. :P

You can preview the ST article and photos here which featured Alfred in his "ninja" setup :) :

Big thanks to Alfred for his participation in NUS and loaning us his solar filters which the Bishan Park crowd totally enjoyed looking through. :)

Thanks Sam for the heads up! What is this 1984 scope mentioned in the article? Younger than me btw. :P

Yes, I recognised Michael Matthew's face in the papers too!
And wow, Mr Au is still at it and going strong!

@ Gary : That's the Celestron Ultima 2000 that he loves so much. Its uniqueness which is not found in the later goto models is the ability to manually push the scope and it still retains tracking. Man, I can't emphasise how he LOVES that scope! :)

Thanks! Oh yes! Just re-watched the video clipped again and saw him saying 1984 beside that scope! I got confused by reading the report first which mentioned about "one person said ...", "another added...". "one of them said", "a third noted"...... LOL. If they mentioned at least the surnames beside these people, "Au" would have rang a huge bell in my head instead of "One"! :)

Fantastic video of the Venus Transit at NUS. Also video proof that the attendance is higher than what *some* media quoted. :)

Enjoy!
