Alright, this is for sharing of your observation experience. Or, if you are arranging gatherings, star-gazing expeditions or just want some company to go observing together, you can shout it out here.

Actually that time, there is a fluorescence light turn on in between the building which normally was off. That light would be annoying if doing deep sky.

I have a crazy suggestion.. how about all of us going and joining the stargazing at Science Centre on Friday 9th, one day before opposition?

We can see saturn through the Observatory's scope and get to meet some tasos people too.. (publicise Singastro ;) ) I don't mind the light pollution there because we're there for Saturn..

Plan B (if cloudy) we can meet at Dempsey Rd or Tiong Bahru park.. or even Toa Payoh park... let's just decide on one.

Plan C is to have it at some public square (e.g. Tpayoh or Tampines) and show off Saturn... but nah...

Whatever it is, lets decide quickly...

:)
Cheers,
Chris

Hi,
How long will the Observatory open?? The Saturn will only rise at 19:22 on Friday and will only reach 45 degree above horizontal at 22:30. So if the observatory are not going to open till then, we'll may not have a decent view of the Saturn.

Anyway, since I'm going to the west on Friday, I think I'll drop by to chit chat, but I don't think I'll stay that late... I need to take the MRT back to the east.

Have a nice day.

Ok, I'll be there from 9PM onwards with a small scope. Not sure what time the observatory closes but hoping to get a view of saturn through their 15" refractor.

The weather seems to be similar to the past two days and if it holds, that means good skies with good stability!

So everyone, let's go observing tonight! CC is out at Delta Rd, people in the west can come to the Science Centre.

Clear skies,
Chris
