1st time w/ Toucam

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

Here's a preview to wat I got last night.

Moon taken with Toucam through a TMB 80/480 on Astroslew mount. Stacked using Registax, 311 frames.

I also included one to show the Saturation colours, just for fun .. :)

From this shot, can you tell if I need a field flattener? While moving the moon around my screen during image capture preview, it was quite obvious it wasn't round.:) I guess it won't matter much on planets or higher mags of the moon - wait till I pick up the T-ring then I'll see what happens with a DSLR.

Once you try the portamount, you will very likely not miss the 044+055 days again :) Its way smoother and there's no need for re-balancing when changing elevations. :)

Yeah, tried one very briefly at a friend's house, first impressions are pretty good.

Now I just have to justify buying another ALt-Az mount when I need a proper EQ mount more .. :)
