Re: Possible Light Pollution Solutions in Singapore.
I’m sort of resigned that to properly enjoy this hobby and be able to observe or photograph anything other than planets, one would have to travel to regional countries with more predictable weather conditions and consistently clear skies. Perth, WA springs to mind. Australia grants 90-day tourist vi...

Re: WTB: looking for portable mount, payload 23-32kg
I have a Losmandy G11 that is overkill for my current scopes or what I presently observe, if you’re interested. That’s about as sturdy as one can get, while still being “portable”
PM me if you’re keen. Cheers.

Beautiful. How many minutes of exposure to get this exquisite work of art?

Very nice shots! I missed those 2 clear nights.

Re: My first planet imaged in Singapore: Jupiter at opposition on 08 Dec 2024
Nice! Your photos inspired me to drag out my Intes 150mm f12 maksutov to look at Jupiter tonight. Decent views similar to your photos when clouds parted and atmosphere was steady. But couldn’t do imaging as my current setup with ASI Air not suitable for planetary imaging.

Re: M31 Andromeda Galaxy processing using Siril
Can't stretch too far it seems, the core is getting too bright, also data acquisition time is very insufficient (less than 2 hours) partly due to mount meridian flip. n.b. forgot to mentioned 2" Orion skyglow filter has been used. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54129132283_959e538b4b_k.jp...

Re: Comet C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS (finally!)
Just barely, though if you hadn’t told me, I would have thought it’s just scattered clouds.
Indeed, astrophotography in SG is often seems futile. The past 3-4 months have been bad. My last decent attempt was back in June. Might switch over to doing planets for rest of the year.

Re: Comet C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS (finally!)
Well done! I gave up trying after 24th Oct. It was all rain or clouds for much of October. Such a short window to take ~ 7.30-8pm - and the skies have to be perfect near Western horizon.

Re: My Deep Sky Astrophotography
Nice. Is this done using narrowband filters? Mono or OSC?
