Another way is to use a parcel forwarding service like Vpost

iOptron HAZ31
For sale is one of the latest strain wave mounts from iOptron, specifically the HAZ31, which has a carrying capacity of 15 kg while it weights less than 4 kg! As you can see from the pics below, it is very very compact. I have been using it as a travel/visual-only mount. It has travelled with me to ...

Re: Does anyone know how much his scope cost? 21inch mirror must be expensive.
Well, the mirror alone probably costs $20k. Then, all the custom parts that have to be machined, another $10k. The scope looks to have tracking capability, so another few thousands dollar there. Re: iOptron HAE 29 Strain Wave Gear Mount
Hi Alfred.
It weights only around 3 kg. I used their online calculator, probably not accurate. It's good to know the actual shipping fee is more reasonable. Thanks

Re: iOptron HAE 29 Strain Wave Gear Mount
Their HAZ31 mount is very attractive, since I do mostly visual astronomy. It will be perfect for my use, without burning a hole in my wallet. Just curious on the actual shipping fee you paid, Alfred, if you don't mind sharing. IOptron is quoting around $500 USD 😅. I've shipped a 13 kg equipment to C...

Re: iOptron HAE 29 Strain Wave Gear Mount (Rainbow, ZWO & iOptron comparison added on 20 Dec)
Thanks for the detailed explanation Alfred. I'm surprised the HEM27 is similar to RainbowAstro in terms of weight.
