Re: Moving back to Singapore, so astrophotography can really be done?

Hi cytan, Yes, I would use this tool to determine the rate of electrons due to light pollution here: https://tools.sharpcap.co.uk in planetary, thousands of frames are stacked, so I would just leave my Windows PC alone. And with short subframes for DSOs, we need a lot of storage space for every type...

Re: Moving back to Singapore, so astrophotography can really be done?

Hi cytan,

In Singapore, if the nights are clear, there will usually be passing clouds also. So always try to make your subs shorter than longer so that you throw less subs away. In this way, 3 hours of integration per clear night is possible.

Re: Moving back to Singapore, so astrophotography can really be done?

Hi everyone, First time poster here. I plan on moving back to Singapore after spending decades overseas. I have pretty good astro equipment (Tak and Astro-Physics stuff) and would sell them if astro-photography is not possible in Bortle 8 to 9 skies. I'm sure I have to modify what I do when I'm in ...

Re: Which ZWO cameras do not dew up in Singapore?

Thanks, good to know that. On ZWO website, it says that "For ASI183/ASI1600/ASI294/ASI533 cameras, the heat emitting from the TEC will be conducted to the camera case and avoid any dew problems when TEC cooling system is working." so it seems to be working. I only know Player-One cameras a...

Which ZWO cameras do not dew up in Singapore?

Hi all,

I just like to ask around owners of cooled ZWO cameras. Which cooled ZWO camera absolutely does not dew up in Singapore? I am just thinking if the ZWO camera window dew heater feature really works or not for us.

MWTS: Vixen VC200L [Sold]

Hi Guys, I am putting this up to survey interest in this special scope and to further trim my herd. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/385862-USA/Vixen_Optics_2632_VC200L_7_9_200mm_Catadioptric_Telescope.html This VC200L (not VMC) is essentially Vixen's Ritchey–Chrétien telescope for astrophotog...

Re: WTS: Legacy astrophotography cameras + 3 sets of imaging filters [final prices]

Hi guys, Just a quick bump by including this link to a CCD filter calculator: https://astronomy.tools/calculators/ccd_filter_size In this way, you can calculate if 1.25" filters work for your system. For example, a Redcat 51 with 183 camera and a filter-sensor distance of 28mm, is roughly the l...

WTS: Televue 3x barlow [SOLD]

Hi guys, I found another thing to let go and this is the hardly used 3x Televue barlow. Nowadays, the planetary cameras have small pixels so I don't need the 3x barlow to reach the optimal sampling. At the very edges of the field lens of the barlow, there are some smudges which I also don't know why...
